A new energy pickup that is truly "fierce, economical, and electric" has arrived, breaking through the boundaries of electricity use across all scenarios.

On August 29, at Hall 10 of the Chengdu Auto Show, the Changan Hunter K50 was officially launched across the entire lineup under the theme "Free Exploration, Infinite Passion." The new vehicle is offered in 6 trim levels, including Luxury, Voyager, and Flagship, covering multiple combinations of 2WD/4WD and standard/long cargo beds, with a price range of 127,900 yuan to 192,900 yuan.

During this launch period, Changan Automobile also introduced numerous purchase benefits: place an order before September 30, 2025, and a 9.9 yuan deposit can be used as 999 yuan in cash, a 3,000 yuan trade-in subsidy, 24-month low-interest loans of 80,000/100,000 yuan, and non-commercial first owners can also enjoy lifetime warranty for the three-electric system and range-extender system, lifetime free basic data traffic, and 3 years of free entertainment data traffic (2G/month), among others.

30kW super external discharge: a revolutionary leap from tool to lifestyle platform

The core breakthrough of the Changan Hunter K50 lies in its 30kW DC super external discharge system, a figure far exceeding the industry average (the external discharge power of current mainstream pickups is mostly between 6kW and 22kW). The system supports an enormous 227 kWh energy reserve, can simultaneously charge 9 DJI T60 drone batteries (one battery fully charged silently in 8 minutes), and is also compatible with high-power electricity needs such as engineering equipment, emergency lighting, and outdoor camping.

This innovation upgrades the pickup from a "transport tool" to a "mobile energy platform," completely changing users' traditional perception of pickup functions.

Agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fishery scenarios: drone operators in Xinjiang cotton fields no longer need to carry diesel generators, and the single-day charging cost drops from 300 yuan to 120 yuan;

Emergency rescue scenarios: power repair vehicles can simultaneously drive electric drills, lighting towers, and drone inspection equipment, improving efficiency by 3 times;

Outdoor lifestyle scenarios: the rear bed can be connected to coffee machines, projectors, and electric grills to create a "mobile living cabin," supporting 220V/380V dual-voltage output to cover both industrial and household needs.

Blue Whale extended-range system + 1,031 km range: solving range anxiety and economic challenges

As an extended-range pickup, the Changan Hunter K50 is equipped with a Blue Whale 2.0T range extender and a dual-motor drive system. The engine has a maximum power of 140kW, the generator has a peak power of 100kW, the drive motors have a total power of 200kW, wheel-end torque reaches 5,000N·m, 0-100 km/h acceleration takes 7.9 seconds, and climbing capability reaches 45%.

Its pure electric driving range under CLTC conditions is 180 kilometers, with a cost per kilometer as low as 7 cents; with combined oil and electricity, the comprehensive range exceeds 1,031 kilometers, and fuel consumption at low battery is 7.9L/100km. Compared with traditional fuel pickups, users with higher annual mileage can save about 15,600 yuan per year.

Fast charging to 80% in 30 minutes, supporting a one-touch power boost mode. Whether climbing on plateaus, driving long distances on highways, or operating under full-load conditions, the K50 can maintain stable and powerful output.

All-around performance, unafraid of all-terrain challenges

The Changan Hunter K50 is not only a "mobile power station," but also a highly capable all-around pickup. It is equipped with an intelligent electric four-wheel-drive system, with wheel-end torque as high as 5,000N·m, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.9 seconds, a startup response time of 0.4 seconds, and fast yet smooth power delivery.

In terms of body structure, the K50 adopts a body-on-frame design, with the ladder frame using a 2:5:2 variable-section structure, weighing 220 kilograms, and reliability exceeding the industry average by 9%. The design payload is 1.1 tons, the extreme payload reaches 2 tons, and towing capacity is 2.5 tons, demonstrating outstanding load-bearing capability.

The vehicle is equipped with a double-wishbone front suspension and five-link rear suspension combination, with steering response of only 20 milliseconds and excellent high-speed cornering stability. Coupled with OR2-level off-road capability, 600mm wading depth, a 29° approach angle, and a 26° departure angle, it can easily handle complex road conditions such as gravel, ice, and rough roads.

Supported by intelligent technology, creating a new digital intelligent pickup experience

The Changan Hunter K50 also spares no effort in intelligent features. It is the world's first to feature the Huawei HMS for Car system, providing L2-level intelligent assisted driving and supporting switching between 10 driving modes, covering both daily and professional off-road scenarios.

The intelligent voice system supports more than 10 languages, more than 70 national languages, and over 400 skills across 22 vertical domains, achieving visible-and-speakable functionality in all scenarios, with smooth and natural continuous dialogue.

The vehicle is also equipped with Huawei VR Petal Navigation, supporting search in 79 languages and precise 3D navigation services. Combined with a localized operations team that updates road information in real time, it provides users with an efficient and accurate navigation experience.

Remote OTA upgrade functionality allows the vehicle to stay fresh over time and continuously gain the latest features and service experiences.

Cross-boundary ecosystem co-creation, a comprehensive innovation in pickup lifestyle

The Changan Hunter K50 is not just a vehicle, but also a cross-boundary ecosystem platform. Changan has joined hands with major brands to co-create a diverse vehicle-use ecosystem: with DJI, it defines the "flight-vehicle integration" standard; with Huawei, it co-creates the HMS for Car smart experience.

It cooperates with CATL to develop high-safety batteries; co-creates Xinjiang self-driving routes with Fliggy Travel; co-creates "Wild King" off-road equipment with technology companies; co-creates a new aesthetic language with the China Academy of Art; and co-creates personalized pickup solutions with modification shops.

This open co-creation ecosystem model makes the Changan Hunter K50 a platform for cross-industry cooperation and a vehicle for service innovation, truly realizing the transformation from "tool" to "toy," and meeting users' full-scenario needs for work, life, and exploration.

The launch of the Changan Hunter K50 marks that new energy pickups have officially shifted from "policy-driven" to "scenario-driven." Its 30kW super external discharge system is not only a technical specification, but also a lifestyle revolution - whether it is a drone operator working in the Gobi Desert, a rescue team providing emergency support in heavy rain, or a family user camping on the weekend, the Changan Hunter K50, positioned as a "mobile energy center," makes the pickup a link connecting work and life. As Huang Zhi, CEO of Changan Kaicheng Pickup Products, said: "What we sell is not a car, but the possibility of free exploration."

In the future, the Changan Hunter K50 is expected to rely on its technological advantages and scenario-based innovation to further promote the evolution of pickups from "tool attributes" to "life companion," opening a new energy era belonging to Chinese pickups.
