The 1995 Mazda 626 is the sixth-generation model of the Mazda 626 lineup and belongs to the mid-size car segment. It was available in three body styles: hatchback, sedan, and wagon. In terms of powertrains, the 1995 Mazda 626 offered a choice of a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and a 2.5-liter V6 engine, with the 2.5-liter V6 performing relatively well and even being used as the basis for the racing engine of the Ford Mondeo. However, the Ford CD4E four-speed automatic transmission introduced in this generation had a high failure rate, and Mazda charged customers to fix the problem, which led to consumer dissatisfaction. Although this generation of the 626 lowered its price, sales remained mediocre. It is also the predecessor of the Mazda6 that we are familiar with.
